Reference rate range study — trailing 12 months

Every figure below comes from the same dated, source-linked rows that the FXpeek CSV and JSON API serve. The study shows how wide each pair's reference band was over the last 12 months, which is what matters when you must pick a defensible rate for an invoice, a payout, or a close file.

Reproduce this

Pull the same rows as CSV at /api/csv?from=USD&to=EUR&days=90 or as JSON at /api/history?from=USD&to=EUR&days=90. Each row carries a date and a source-linked reference URL, so the study can be reproduced and audited rather than trusted as a black box.

Reference data only; not a bank quote, settlement rate, tax-authority rate, or financial advice. See the methodology.

Study FAQ

How is the trailing-12-month spread calculated?

For each pair the study reads the same dated reference rows the API serves, takes the lowest and highest observation in the window, and reports the spread as (high − low) ÷ average. The observations column shows how many dated rows the window actually contains.

Which rate should I use if my policy fixes a specific date?

Use the row published for that business date rather than the 12-month average. The study is there to show the band a pair moved in and to justify why a date-specific rate was chosen; it is not a substitute for the dated rate itself.

Can I reproduce these numbers?

Yes. Pull the same rows as CSV from /api/csv or as JSON from /api/history with days=90, and keep the retrieval date with the file. Every row carries its own observation date and a source-linked reference URL.

Do these figures include bank spreads or fees?

No. The study is built from published reference rows only. Bank and card quotes add spread, fees and settlement timing on top, so they normally differ — compare the date and the source, not only the number.
