What you should know before using a rate

The date, source, method, and limitations stay visible so a result can be checked later.

Where does FXpeek exchange-rate data come from?

Fiat reference rates are retrieved through Frankfurter from European Central Bank reference data. Stablecoin reference rates come from the CoinGecko simple price API. FXpeek shows reference values, not bank buy or sell quotes.

What does the exchange rate on a date mean?

It is the reference rate published for the response asOf date. FXpeek syncs after source data is available and does not describe the result as an intraday close, settlement rate, or real-time transaction quote.

Can I use FXpeek for invoices, tax files, or audits?

FXpeek can support a record with the date, currency pair, reference value, source URL, and CSV or API path. Whether a source is accepted depends on your policy, adviser, auditor, and local authority; FXpeek does not provide tax or accounting advice.

Is the public FXpeek API free, and what are the limits?

The public JSON and CSV examples for supported pairs require no API key and are intended for lightweight lookup, spreadsheets, and prototypes. FXpeek does not publish a fixed public daily allowance; abusive or high-volume traffic may be limited.

Which currencies and dates does FXpeek cover?

The main public navigation highlights 15 fiat currencies, including USD, EUR, CNY, JPY, GBP, IDR, VND, and THB, plus supported USDT and USDC reference pairs. Public history is highlighted from 2015 onward, while the exact first available date varies by pair and source.
